Thanks to principals’ feedback and positive responses to our Fall virtual workshops, WCRIS is excited to offer the following topics for our Spring semester Lunch & Learn series. These online sessions will last less than an hour. Attend any or all that you like:
Special Needs Scholarship Program Overview | January 19 at 1:30 pm
Are you interested in joining the Special Needs Scholarship program? Are you already in the program but have questions? Then this is the webinar for you.
WCRIS staff will cover what you need to know to join the SNSP, and answer any questions you may have about the IEP process, and what services you are required to provide students. Great for new and veteran principals alike.
Busing and Your School | February 16 at 1:30 pm
Join WCRIS as they walk you through the complicated transportation law in the state and identify what you can do to make it easier to follow, and maximize benefits to your students.
WCRIS will cover the common questions and issues that schools face with their local public school district, recent court rulings, and looming busing deadlines.
This is especially recommended for new principals.
Spring Update on Issues at the State Capitol and in D.C | March 4 at 1:30 pm
WCRIS members are encouraged to attend the WCRIS Spring Update to hear about legislative issues that could affect your school. We’ll cover the state’s current legislative session, issues from the DPI, upcoming elections, and what you can expect in the coming year from state lawmakers and from the feds at the US Department of Education and in Congress.
ESEA and Title Consultations | March 9 at 1:30 pm
Every year, public school district officials must meet with their local private schools to discuss participation in federal programs. Federal law requires it.
Join WCRIS staff and the ESEA Private School Ombudsman to review everything you need to know for your school’s required meeting, and how to maximize its productivity, and minimize your frustration.
This is recommended for new principals.
You can register for any of the webinars here. Stay tuned to Current Events for the addition of other subjects, as we respond to emerging or topical issues that are critical to you.
