You can review the benefits of your WCRIS membership by reading the WCRIS Annual Update here. A printed copy has also been sent to you via U.S. mail. Please share it with your pastor, oversight boards, and parents. It’s important for them to know they are part of a very successful and active state-wide effort to protect and defend religious and independent K-12 schools.
Some of the highlights of WCRIS work on your behalf include:
- Gaining private school access to Wisconsin School Safety Grants that brought $6.9 million into WCRIS schools;
- Getting a law passed that recognizes private school teaching experience towards the new teacher Lifetime License;
- Creating of The Administrator’s Guide to Trauma-Informed Care/Trauma Sensitive School Training to help schools comply with the school safety grant requirements;
- Publishing The Choice Handbook: A guide to Wisconsin’s Parental Choice Programs for Schools, which is available for purchase by returning this form to our office;
- Creating professional development opportunities for teachers and principals that are Title II-A eligible: March 8, 2019 in Pewaukee and August 9, 2019 in the Wisconsin Dells. Details to come in future editions of Current Events.
