The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) is now seeking public comment on draft administrative rules that have to be written since the legislature made changes to the Choice program in its 2017-19 session.
The draft rules have already been reviewed by WCRIS and other education reform stakeholders who gave their input to the DPI which has incorporated those suggestions in the version now open for public comment. Overall, the updates to the administrative Choice rules are relatively minor.
You can find a plain-language summary for the Milwaukee Program here and the Racine and Statewide program here.
WCRIS believes that there is no action need by its members at this time. However, if you read the rules and find an area of concern and want to comment on the rules directly to the DPI, you may submit your written feedback here and click on the comment buttons for CR 19-121 and CR 19-120.
