Non-profit organizations, including private schools, are invited to request surplus supplies, according to a recent memo from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS).
DHS is “inviting health care organizations, local and tribal health departments, nonprofits, and government agencies to fill out a statewide survey to request surplus supplies from the DHS Warehouse. Items available range from standard COVID-19 PPE items (masks, respirators, gloves) to hygiene items (pillows, toothbrushes) to miscellaneous items such as paper bags.”
About 250 types of items are available in different quantities. Items are categorized as “Medical Items, Non-Medical Items, Office Supplies, Larger Equipment and Electronics, and PPE surplus,” according to the agency.
The survey will close at 4 p.m. on Nov. 7, 2022 when DHS will begin reviewing all orders. Once this is complete, DHS staff will get in touch about your requests and delivery.
“In instances where demand exceeds supply, priority will be given to health care organizations. All supplies will then be shipped at no cost,” says DHS.
It does not appear that participating in this program triggers compliance with additional state or federal regulations. Therefore, schools are encouraged to take advantage of the supplies.
