Students from WCRIS member LUMIN Schools sold lemonade this wintery week to support Children’s Wisconsin. LUMIN Schools operates seven Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod schools located in Milwaukee, Wauwatosa and Racine.
One third grade student donated $80 from her piggy bank for the LUMIN Lemonade Day. She recounted, “I’ve been saving up for a year to collect coins and money because I love helping kids and I like animals too.”
Last year, the schools raised $5,000. Local businesses such as Northwestern Mutual, Starbucks and Pete’s Market donated to the cause.
A Milwaukee news station interviewed students about their lemonade stand at Saint Martini Lutheran School in Milwaukee, one of the seven LUMIN schools.
