Your school may have unclaimed “property” waiting for you!

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) holds outstanding balances that weren’t able to be paid to individuals or organizations. And it’s up to the owners to claim them.

The property can range from less than $10 to thousands of dollars. It could be from a check that was sent to your school that was never cashed or refunds due to your school from some vendor that, for whatever reason, never processed your payment. We typically see balances left from soda companies, uniform apparel providers or energy savings programs.

It could also be a payment resulting from your school being named a beneficiary on an insurance policy or settlement.

In a quick search this week, 43 of 50 randomly-selected WCRIS schools had property waiting to be claimed.

Take a moment now to search the easy-to-use the DOR Unclaimed Property portal to find and claim what’s yours.
