The Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of School Safety launched a new threat reporting tip line on its new website, titled: “Speak Up, Speak Out.” The tipline can be found here.
The new tip line allows people to call-in threats of school violence and related concerns to the DOJ. School administrators must register with the DOJ to receive copies of the reported threats to their school. You can register with the system here.
When you register your school, it will ask for your school district. You can type “N/A” in the field.
You will also be asked to fill out the school district administrator’s contact information. You can fill it out with another contact at your school, like a vice principal or dean of students. This is just to ensure that if the primary contact is unreachable that the DOJ can contact someone else.
