From the DPI on March 25, 2020:
“On Monday, March 23, Deputy State Superintendent Mike Thompson sent an email to district administrators announcing the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) received approval to implement waivers for requirements in section 1111 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, related to federal assessment and accountability requirements. All federal requirements are waived for the state and all districts effective immediately. The DPI continues to work with Governor Evers’ office and legislature to address the state statutory requirements of testing and accountability.”
“Due to the school closures and the evolving COVID situation, it is not possible to administer the statewide assessments for the 2019-20 school year. There will be no further state assessments this school year.”
