The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has declared the Coronavirus Disease – 19 (COVID-19) a pandemic.
In response, Gov. Tony Evers has directed the Department of Health Services (DHS) to close all public and private K-12 schools for the purpose of direct student instruction for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year to help slow the transmission of COVID-19.

Lead Agency:
The State is asking public school district leaders, charter schools and private school leaders to look to their county health department for direction about COVID-19. County health departments will be the lead agency for the state at the local level. You can find your local health department and its contact information here.
Current Status of COVID-19
As of July 9, 2020, the Wisconsin DHS has reported 33,908 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 809 deaths associated with the virus.
- Milwaukee County reported 397 deaths.
- Racine County reports 65 deaths.
- Kenosha County reports 44 deaths.
- Brown County reports 43 deaths.
- Dane County reported 33 deaths.
