Uploading annual safety submissions – accurately and promptly – to the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of School Safety (OSS) ensures your school is eligible to receive help when it needs it most.
WCRIS is on the DOJ’s Critical Incident Grant Committee and helped direct almost $90,000 to Catholic Memorial High School, a WCRIS member, to fund recovery efforts after the Waukesha parade tragedy last year.
This money came with no strings attached, other than the basic grant eligibility requirement that the school has a safety submission on file with the OSS, as already required by law. WCRIS successfully staved off burdensome requirements and advocated for the funds to be used in accordance with the school’s mission and values.
Your school’s 2023 submission is due to the OSS by Jan. 1. Upload the required documents using your school’s unique ShareFile login.
Make sure your school can receive additional help if it experiences a crisis. Find instructions on how to upload your submission here.
If you have specific questions about your submission or ShareFile information, we recommend contacting the OSS. After that, please contact WCRIS if you have further questions or concerns.
