The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) issued this letter, on May 11, updating schools about vaccines, testing, quarantining and other efforts aimed at returning “to normal” for Fall. Although there is no mandate for what DHS recommends, the letter says, “even after teachers and staff are vaccinated, schools will need to continue to follow recommended mitigation strategies, such as isolation and quarantine, mask-wearing, and physical distancing, for the foreseeable future.”
But meanwhile, the CDC issued new guidelines on masks for people who have been vaccinated. The CDC guidance does not replace local regulations instituted by businesses and workplaces. However, it does influence them, so watch your local health department for news of changes.
