Private Schools Cultivate Civic Virtues
Private, religious K-12 schools produce more engaged citizens than their public counterparts, according to a recent study.
The study, conducted by University of Arkansas and University of Buckingham researchers, investigated four key components of civic engagement: political tolerance; political participation; civic knowledge and skills; and voluntarism and community engagement – finding that private school students “perform” better than their public school peers in most of these areas. Student of the Week Hails from WCRIS School
Lucia Santana, 11th-grader from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, was named the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Student of the Week last week. Congratulations!
