The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and the Public Service Commission have teamed up to help students get affordable broadband access.
Families can locate internet discounts through the easy to use Internet Discount Finder created by state government.
When the WCRIS Board of Directors met with DPI Superintendent Carolyn Stanford Taylor last Fall, they discussed the critical need for better internet in rural areas and for more affordable internet options.
They agreed to work together to advance this issue with state lawmakers. As the legislature wrestles with this issue, WCRIS will advocate for the inclusion of private schools in broadband expansion, just as it successfully did with school safety grants.
