President Biden signed a second round of EANS funding into law on March 11 under the American Rescue Plan Act. EANS II allocates an estimated $67 million for Wisconsin. DPI is awaiting directions from the feds about how it will be distributed.
Currently, the law appears to mirror EANS I, but does not allow reimbursements. The DPI is determining whether or not schools will have to start a new application for EANS II or if they can simply update their EANS I application. Watch Current Events for updates.
In the meantime, the DPI is finalizing its contract with the CESAs for EANS I, which will allow the CESAs to release their product and services brochure and start the funds distribution, and training webinars.
Here is the latest information about EANS I:
- The DPI opened the EANS I application and 311 private schools have applied. If you did not get an application link, email DPI at EANS@dpi.wi.gov. They are missing e-mail addresses for 241 private schools. WCRIS is helping DPI gather that information.

- Common principal question: Can schools hire staff using EANS funds?
- General EANS questions: Contact the DPI EANS staff at EANS@dpi.wi.gov.
- Catholic schools can use NCEA’s directory of services to spend their EANS funds. Learn more here.
