The US Department of Education (DOE) is now accepting private school nominations for the 2019 National Blue Ribbon Schools Program.
This recognition is a prestigious honor and great accomplishment for your school and a nationally recognized sign of your school’s excellence in education.
Schools must be an “Exemplary High Performing School” to qualify. A school that meets this standard, is a school that ranks among the state’s highest performing schools based on state assessments in both reading and mathematics or scored at the highest performance level on tests referenced by national norms in at least the most recent year tested.
In the past, some of WCRIS’ members received the blue flag in recognition of being a National Blue Ribbon School. These schools are:
- Blessed Sacrament School – 2017
- Saint Stanislaus – 2015
- Aquinas Middle School – 2013
- Our Redeemer Lutheran School – 2013
Schools can start the process by going to the Council for American Private Education’s website, whom WCRIS is the state chapters of, to register for the online application. The deadline to register is November 6, 2018.
