Today marked the first Joint Finance Committee (JFC) budget hearing at the Waukesha County Expo Center. There are three sessions left around the state:

  • April 11: UW-Eau Claire Davies Student Center, Eau Claire;
  • April 12: Wilderness Resort, Wisconsin Dells;
  • April 26: Lakeland Union High School, Minocqua.

WCRIS urges you to attend the hearing in your area to support our proposed Private School Health and Safety grant program. If you can’t attend an in-person session, you can still submit your comments for the JFC online. Invite your school community to do the same.

WCRIS’ proposal requests that private schools receive 10% of any new money appropriated to improve K-12 education in the state. Schools would be able to use the funds to address learning loss, mental health, air and water quality, school safety and internet connectivity. Read it here.
