The application period for the 2020 Herb Kohl Educational Awards for students, teachers and principals is now open.
Current private high school seniors, who are Wisconsin residents, are eligible to apply for a $10,000 Student Excellence scholarship to the college of their choice. This is a highly competitive scholarship with only 14 private school students winning statewide. The criteria for applying can be found here.
Some private high school seniors are eligible to apply for a $10,000 Student Initiative scholarship. This application is for seniors that have overcome great adversity and barriers in their lives. A list of schools that are eligible to participate in the Student Initiative scholarship can be found here. Schools not listed are not eligible to apply this year.
Teachers and principals can only apply if they are nominated by someone. This is a great way for students, parents, fellow teachers and principals, and church members to recognize and honor a teacher or principal.
Fourteen teacher and four principal winners will receive $6,000 for themselves and another $6,000 for their school.
One of the 14 Herb Kohl Teacher Fellowship winners will be selected as the Wisconsin Private School Teacher of the Year and receive an additional $3,000 award.
